Fabric Manipulation – Sewing Sewing Club Review

We Carry
by Sara Snuggerud in Sewing Tips

At the March 2013 Sewtopia Sewing Club we featured a variety of fabric manipulated techniques. Below are the links to the tutorials needed to complete the techniques. I was originally inspired by projects found on Pinterest that featured fun ways to twist, twirl, fold, weave and tuck fabrics.

Want to try one of these techniques? Try it out on a Charity Gift Bag that are sized 10” x 16”. It is the perfect canvas to try out a new technique without investing a lot of time or fabric.

The Sewtopia group loved the Chevrons and the Continuous Prairie Points the best! These were my favorites too!

Join us next Sewtopia (April 2013) as we feature great ways to “clean out your closet” of left over fabric scraps. We also will be doing a 1 yard batik exchange that will have you going home when seven different batik fabrics in seven different sizes. We challenge you to then make something with the fabrics you receive.
