Claudia’s Creations – A Child is Born Workshop

We have been authorized to teach Claudia’s exclusive workshop “A Child is Born”. This nativity-themed quilt teaches the art of rehooping using Claudia’s exclusive embroidery techniques. Learn advanced hooping functions built into your embroidery machine like Precise Positioning (Viking & Pfaff) and PinPoint Placement (Bernina). Master the art of perfect stabilization for a perfectly flat outcome. These stabilizer techniques are guaranteed to carry over to all future embroidery projects. All brands of embroidery machines with an 8” x 14” or larger embroidery hoop welcome. Pre-class preparation is needed. Click here for how to prepare the fabric BEFORE class. Finished Size: 55” x 55”

Fee: $149 (plus $90 for the design CD)

4 1/4 yards Cream tone on tone background fabric

1/4 yard Gold tone on tone quarter-inch border fabric for center Nativity Block (optional)

1 3/4 yards Inner and outer border fabric

7 2/3 yards Pellon Shape Flex 101 (20” wide) or OESD Fusible Woven Interfacing (2 rolls/20” width) 

1/2 yard Binding (not needed in class)

4 yards Backing (not needed in class)

60” X 60” Batting (not needed in class)

Embroidery Supply List:

Hoop requirements (all hoops must have a grid/template):  

Stitch field must be 8” wide x 12” high or larger—bring your largest hoop and grid

360 X 200 hoop for Pfaff or Viking

Maxi Hoop 40 cm X 21 cm for Bernina

The tray table, if you have one for your machine (Bernina 7 or 8 series)

2 rolls OESD Heavy Weight Tear Away (10 yards of 15” wide)

OESD 505 Temporary Adhesive Spray

Removable fabric marking pen (no air erasable pens)

Needles:  80/12 and 90/14 Sharps

Terial Magic Starch (mandatory)

Basic embroidery kit including small double curved scissors, tweezers

Jumbo Wonder Clips (4-6 clips) to hold embroidery out of the way (optional)

Arrow-shaped Post-It Notes (they say:  SIGN HERE)

Bobbin Thread:  Suggested: light, neutral color, and black

Embroidery Thread:  Isacord 40 wt. Colors are listed below:
