Manufacturers Listen to Consumers

We Carry

Have you noticed how easy sewing machines are to use compared to the models of 20 years ago? Since the introduction of computerized sewing and embroidery machines, the engineers have kept their ears open to what sewers want, and an eye on the future of technology. Their active roll in both arenas has produced some of the most advanced, yet simplified, sewing machines to date.

Sewers were the ones to suggest more sewing light and full color touch screens. Now we want it all – automatic thread cutters, longer throat space between the machine and needle, needle threaders, easy-load bobbins, customizable settings, ability to attach other peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard or iPod…. the list goes on, the engineers are listening, and our machines are more amazing than ever!

This past week Husqvarna Viking authorized Heirloom Creations to host a comprehensive consumer sewing survey to submit anonymous suggestions to the Research and Development Department at the Swedish factory. Our event was one of the first to test the newly introduced Husqvarna Viking Designer SE LIMITED EDITION.

We were guided through this entire machine’s very powerful options, the sewing features, on-screen help, stitch variety, and easy embroidery. It was fun to hear from the presenters which features on the machine came about from consumer’s suggestions. It made me feel like it was a machine designed by sewers just for me!

The feature that rocked the quilting world the past few years is the Stitch Regulator. This option offers quilters to free motion quilt while the machine keeps all the stitches the same length no matter how fast or slow you move the fabric. When Bernina introduced the Bernina aurora 440 with the stitch regulator we were overwhelmed by the number of people who had to see and try it for themselves. Of course, once they tried it, they had to have it!

Husqvarna Viking took the stitch regulator to one more level and combined the technology of regulating the stitches with a fabric mover to help the fabric glide effortlessly under the needle. This specialized Husqvarna Viking Fab-U-Motion Fabric Mover with Stitch Regulator by Quilter’s Cruise Control was made to be added to many of the current Husqvarna Viking sewing machines models.

Are you tired lifting and lowering the presser foot? Check out Husqvarna Vikings Exclusive Sensor System that not only lifts and lowers the presser foot, but also adjusts the pressure for the fabric thickness.

You may want the sewing and embroidery machine that received the Best Buy award from Consumers Digest Magazine. The Bernina artista 730E earned this prestigious award for many of its user friendly sewing features.

If you desire the sewing precision of a top-of-the-line sewing machine but find your budget holds you back, may I recommend the newest Bernina 210. This newest model offers the power and precision of the most expensive Bernina but at a very affordable price.

Next time you hear yourself saying, “I wish my sewing machine had…” call me and ask if there is already a sewing machine with this feature. And if there is not, you may have thought of the NEXT BIG THING for the sewing world!
