Congratulations to the Stitchers Garden class of 2016. After 12 months of sewing machine techniques, learning and using accessory feet and playing with decorative stitches, they all have had an amazing journey. Check out all the pictures below!

We are so proud of them!

Here are a few of their comments about their accomplishments. If you would like to join us for next year’s Stitching Cosmos program, click here for all the details. The 2017 Stitching Cosmos class starts Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

“Wonderful tips and practice with all the different feet. Makes adding decorative touches so easy.” – Julie

“I love my new Bernina! Class was a great way to learn about my machine and get a start on what is can do. Can’t wait to try some stitches on my granddaughter’s clothes. Sara encourages me with creativity. Fun to be with the other students too.” – Darla

“I feel like I REALLY know my decorative stitches now. I can applique like a pro (almost!) and am much more confident trying new techniques. I made myself buy the needed feet for my machine and have applied some of the techniques to other projects already. I loved the Piping Hot Binding technique!” – Mary Caldwell

We had some students expand their talents to other projects after being inspired to be creative with their decorative stitches and sewing machine accessories. Here, Brenda B. of Sioux Falls, was inspired by a scrapbook project she saw on Pinterest. Using fabric instead of scrapbook fabric, her frame mounted picture turned into a work of art.

Here is a close up of some of the decorative stitches used around the leaves.

Wow! Just wow! I know there is no way to describe all the work that went into these blocks, but after 12 months of dedication I could ask these students to do anything and they would be able to just sit down and do it!

Here is one Stitchers Garden in its final stages of assembly.

This was one of the coolest quilted background I had seen. Who would have thought that using different colors and different stitches could creative such a unique background.

Love. Love. Love. This background stitched with a twin needle, decorative stitches and variegated thread. Check out the twin needle decorative stitches around the appliqués too!

We love the decorative stitch selected for the couching technique around this wavy border!

And the variegated thread makes it pop even more.

The following blocks were adapted to be cut with their new AccuQuilt GO! Fabric cutter!

If these pictures inspired you, consider joining us for the next Stitching Cosmos session.

At this time, the Stitching Cosmos is an in-store program only, but we do plan to film this course and have it available online in the early 2018. If you are interested in being notified when the online version is available, please sign up for E-mail updates over at SewingMastery.com.

Just purchased my Bernina machine. Haven’t sewn for years, so a beginner and was encouraged to begin learning with Stitchers Garden block each month. Sara and the rest of the staff were very patient, and willing to answer questions and show everyone different techniques. People in the class were so friendly, helpful, and willing to share ideas. Thank you so much for an enjoyable experience.
