I spent this past weekend with three girlfriends doing our own mini sewing retreat here in Sioux Falls*. I did something I have never done before…finished everything I had brought by 10 am on Sunday! I was thrilled. Anyway…one of my projects was the first two blocks of the new Love Letters Block of the Month that will debut October 1, 2011. So here is a sneak peek! Heirloom Creations’ quilt kit arrived two days before my retreat, so I only took the first two (of twelve) blocks to sew.

Here is how the Love Letters block of the month will work:
- Love Letters is a This & That pattern that has 12 blocks/six patterns. Each block is 17″ and is repeated twice.
- Each month we will have each pattern and fabric kitted for approximately $20. Each kit will make two 17″ blocks.
- Finished size is 65″ x 83″.
- There are only 30 Love Letter kits available. Patterns are available separately for those who which to work with other colors.
- To sign up for the Block of the Month, a credit card will need to be kept on file.
- A finishing/border kit will also be included on month six (March 2012).

*We stayed at the Residence Inn (by Toys R Us) in one of their two king bed room suites. We transformed the sitting area into the sewing room, moved in three 6′ tables and stocked the full kitchen (stove, pots and pans, plates, dishwasher and full size fridge) with quick easy to prep meals/snacks and sewed from Friday afternoon to check-out time on Sunday!
