This finger pressing sleeve is wonderful. It is made from heat resistant yarn and knitted with elastic thread for a comfortable fit. Its job is to protect your finger from the heat of the iron while working seams open for pressing.

Lately I have been making some pieced quilts that will be heavily embellished during the quilting process. Taking time to press all the seams open now will eliminate the bulky seams later for a smoother finish.
NOTE: It says to be careful when using steam as it will penetrate the sleeve, but I have found the sleeve works great even with a bit of steam coming out of the iron at close range.
