Ever wondered why some Viking retailers never have all the models on display?

They may be short on their certifications.

Heirloom Creations in Sioux Falls, SD IS CERTIFIED! ✅

ONLY CERTIFIED retailers can sell all the newest Husqvarna Viking products.

Each year Husqvarna Viking store owners, service technicians and staff are REQUIRED to be trained and certified to purchase the new models such as the brand new Husqvarna Viking Designer EPIC 2 for their stores.

This year Husqvarna Viking released a number of new products and accessories.

Here are Some of the Highlights From the 2019 Husqvarna Viking Dealer Convention.

Husqvarna Viking Designer EPIC 2

The Husqvarna Viking Designer EPIC 2 can only be truly understood by seeing it in person. Not until I put my hands on this machine could I comprehend what it could do for me. This video will give you a little insight but trust me, you need to see the EPIC 2 in person to fully understand its power.

Beyond EPIC™. The best just got better. Welcome to our world of sewing! The HUSQVARNA® VIKING® DESIGNER EPIC™ 2 sewing and embroidery machine joins advanced technology with exquisite creative possibilities, and even at first glance, you will notice that we have not left anything out.

Husqvarna Viking Amber Air S 400 Air Threading Serger

As a serger expert, I think I am more excited for this serger than for the EPIC 2. It answers the age old serger question of “is it easy to thread?” Yes, it is easy to thread AND it DOES NOT cost $5,000! It is very affordable.

Easy air threading, built-in needle threader, differential feed, and much more.

The Ribbon Embroidery Attachment

A true innovation in the home embroidery machine. With the optional ribbon embroidery attachment, your DESIGNER EPIC™ 2 machine will guide and stitch down ribbon in embroidery mode. Adding ribbon to your embroidery designs has never been easier!

Multi Function Foot Control

I had some extra fun playing with the new Multi Function Foot Control that I can program with my own settings. Here is a short video I made while at convention:

ECQ stands for “Embroidery, Cut and Quilt”, and is a versatile tool for quickly designing new embroideries. Check out the latest super easy stand alone embroidery software.

  1. Diane L brown says:

Can you use the ribbon embroidery attachment on the Epic embroidery machine.

    1. Sara says:

Hi Diane, In the future, the Viking EPIC will have an upgrade to be able to use the Ribbon Embroidery Attachment.

  2. Erma Buckley says:

This group is epic too!! A little pun.

  3. Kelly Craig says:

Can you use a walking foot on the Epic2?

    1. Sara says:

The walking foot is not able to be used with the Epic 2.

  4. Kate O'Neill says:

Are you saying those with the original Epic will be able to upgrade to get the ribbon attachment? Also, why or why does the Epic not have dual feed when Epic 2 does? Seems for the cost of the original it should have dual feed. Can dual feed be put in an Epic?

    1. Sara says:

Yes, the original Epic will eventually have a software update to work with the new ribbon embroidery attachment.

As for the dual feed, this is the very first Husqvarna Viking to ever have dual feed. The EPIC 2 was completely redesigned to accommodate this new feature. Please visit your local Husqvarna Viking retailer to see it in person and see what it really does.

  5. Rose Garcia says:

Is it really as fantastic as it looks? What’s the price??

    1. Sara says:

Please contact your local Husqvarna Viking retailer for pricing.

  6. Connie says:

can you use the new foot with
    Designer Epic 1 ?

    1. Sara says:

      Not yet. 😉

  7. Therese Kossuth says:

How is ribbon loaded onto the ribbon attachment? The video stopped short, how does the project come off the machine?

    1. Sara says:

Please come in the store and we will show you.

  8. Karen Vander Molen says:

Can any of the previous HV feet (I have the Sapphire 930) be used on the Epic? I have tons…I realize the walking foot won’t, but do the feet snap on the same way on the Epic2?

On another subject,HV quilting frame, is that a good accessory if you wish to quilt yourself?

    1. Sara says:

      Hi Karen,

Yes, all your current feet will work on the new EPIC 2. They will not be as wide as the EPIC 2 stitch width of 9mm. As for the quilt frame, yes, it is a great way to quilt your own quilts. Try it out at your local Husqvarna Viking retailer.

  9. Hanne says:

What is the price for the ribbon attachment

    1. Sara says:

Please check with your local Husqvarna Viking store for pricing. Many stores are including it with the purchase of an EPIC 2.

  10. Dorothy says:

Does the hoops from the Diamond Royal fit the Epic 2?

    1. heirloomc says:

      Hi Dorothy, They sure do!

  11. Crystal Porvaznik says:

Will the Designer Epic also have an upgrade so that you can use the Design Placement through the MySewMonitor App and be able to adjust thge placement of the embroidery design on the garment like the Epic 2 can?

    1. Sara says:

Yes. You should see these features in the next update.

  12. MT says:

Can you upload a PNG or embroidery file to the machine for it to make the design into embroidery ?

    1. Sara says:

Hi, You would need embroidery digitizing software to convert an image file into an embroidery file. You can also pay an embroidery digitizer to digitize your picture or logo.
