Butterfly Wishes Embroidered Card

In many cultures the butterfly is a symbol of hope, endurance, change, and new life. Which means this card will be perfect for almost any occasion you want to send happy thoughts or say, “I’m thinking of you.” The Butterfly Wishes design can be stitched in two sizes for 5 x 7 or 41⁄4″ x 51⁄2” cards. After embroidery, add shadows of color with Kimberbell Watercolor Pencils, then use the blending brush to smooth the pencil lines into brushstrokes, giving a wash of color to each dainty wing. To cover the back of the stitch work, we’ve included a printable insert in both full-color and outline images.

Baby Is Sleeping Trapunto Pillow

From the Italian word for quilt, Trapunto is a technique which adds decorative dimension to quilted designs. We used two extra layers of batting and dense lines of quilting to create the trapunto effect for this sweet baby pillow on the embroidery machine. Thebottom border of pink or blue is pieced in-the-hoop to finish the phrase “…is sleeping.”Additional borders with pompom trim and hanging tassels are added on the sewingmachine to make a cover just right for Kimberbell’s 91⁄2 x 51⁄2” rectangle pillow form.Place it on the doorknob whenever baby goes down for a nap as a gentle reminder for big brother and sister to play quietly.

Faberge Cutwork Egg

Created by jeweler Peter Carl Faberge, the ornate Faberge eggs were Easter gifts commissioned for mothers and daughters in the Russian imperial family. While you may not have a royal title, you’ll be stitching like a queen using techniques like cutwork andfringe embroidery to make this magnificent Easter decoration. Once embroidered, the ornament can be framed in Kimberbell’s traditional bamboo hoop, adorned with ribbon bows and pompom trim.

Friends Warm the Heart Mug Hug

Remember braiding friendship bracelets from embroidery floss in 6th grade? Cleverpiecing in-the-hoop makes the fabric on this mug hug appear braided. And, just like those bracelets, you’ll want to make one for every friend. Perfect for pairing with a hot cocoa orcoffee cup, a kind sentiment finishes the mug hug. With three sizes to choose from, mug hugs are beautiful as a candle wrap too.

Glitter Nosed Reindeer Tote

What do you get when you applique a reindeer on buffalo check? Kimberbell cute with a capital JOY and all the holiday hashtags! With a nose made of glitter, this handsome guy spreads Christmas merry in a tote big enough for packing plenty of reindeer games. Kimberbell’s Buffalo Check Totes come without the side seams sewn up so it’s easy to hoop the bag itself, then add the adorable embroidery.

Grateful Heart Composition Notebook

Oprah said it, so it must be true. She’s been keeping a gratitude journal for years. Now it’smore than just a trend, there are actual scientifically proven health benefits for expressinggratitude. So, this project is a legitimate excuse for giving yourself a sew day and stitching the Grateful Heart Composition Book for everyone you love. Pieced and embroidered completely in-the-hoop the journal cover fits both mini and medium size composition notebooks.

Sweet Feet: Rain Boots

When life gives you rainy days, why not wear cute boots and jump in the puddles? Or, just stay inside and stitch a pair of darling rain boots on your embroidery machine. A layer of vinyl makes happy cotton prints appear like real rubber boots. Kimberbell’s Medium Sweet Tube slips inside each boot with darling ribbon straps. To encourage afriend who is weathering the storms of life, we’ve included a printable PDF with five gift tag options.

Mini Wall Hanging: Happy Birthday

A layer cake with icing, candles, confetti, and now Kimberbell—all become part of your birthday wishes! We used applique glitter to make the balloons even brighter and colorful piecing for the border. This adorable wall hanging can be made in three sizes and has
all the features we love about quilting, except the work is finished in-the-hoop on an embroidery machine.

Hello Winter Bench Buddy

Like kisses from heaven, the first snowflake brings both wonder and delight. This winter Bench Buddy welcomes the season with a snowflake made of white applique glitter. Pieced borders are added after embroidery on your sewing machine to make the cover just right for Kimberbell’s 8” pillow form. Design files include options for double hooping the pillow top in a 5 x 7 hoop.

Life is Sweet Tea Towel

From strawberry shortcake or strawberry jam, dipped in chocolate or frosty daiquiri, life is sweeter with strawberries. This delightful tea towel captures all the cuteness of a red ripe strawberry. With our innovative technique for Over-the-Edge Applique, fabric is placed on both the front and back of the tea towel hem. A layer of flexible foaminterfacing is sandwiched in between the fruity fabric pieces which gives dimension and makes the embroidered strawberries seem almost real. Enjoy every delicious stitch!

Machine Embroider By Number: Leaf

French author, Albert Camus wrote, “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is aflower.” If the rich tones of autumn delight your heart, then you’ll love this Kimberbell original Embroider by Number project. Choose a single favorite color for this flower of fall centerpiece or three different fabrics to make variegated leaf blades. Crosshatch quilting and optional ribbon loops for hanging complete the mini quilt in all five sizes. From extra-small to extra-large, you’ll find many ways to display and use each one— coaster or mug rug, potholder or placement, seasonal ornament or home décor. The smallest size even makes an adorable pin cushion.

Modern Patchwork Zipper Pouch

Funny thing about the word modern, as times change, so does its definition. Frompiecing scraps by hand with needle and thread to our present-day home embroiderymachines, the modern sewing movement has had quite the evolution. The combinationof a simple patchwork strip with contemporary techniques like quilting in-the-hoop,gives this zipper pouch a subtle sophistication in all four sizes. Just right for sewing notions, makeup, and other essentials, Kimberbell zipper pouches are fully lined with no raw edges or stabilizer showing.

Sage Owl Oven Mitt

There are two definitions for the word sage. One meaning wisdom and good judgment, as in sage advice. The other, a savory culinary herb popular in meat and poultry dishes. Take our advice and serve up a spicy dish for your family with these adorable owl oven mitts. In three sizes, for holding saucepan handles to a cast iron skillet, your fingers fit just inside the wings. We’ve stitched our owls with flannel and recommend a layer of insulated lining like Insul-Bright®, and batting for use as a hot pad or oven mitt.
